J. R. Miller Martial Arts is a member of the UMBA (United Martial Arts Black Belt Association) and the KMAS (Korean Martial Arts Society).
U.M.B.A. DAN CERTIFICATION: U.M.B.A. Dan Certification is available through Master George N. Wukovich a 7th Degree Master Instructor (Through the United Martial Arts Black Belt Association (U.M.B.A.), through its Korean Martial Arts Society (K.M.A.S.) training programs, he offers Advanced Dan (Black Belt Degree) Training and Certification for all martial artists who have successfully achieved the rank of U.M.B.A. Cho (1st) Dan, or its authorized equivalent, via test-grading under the U.M.B.A. Basic Grid Requirements found elsewhere on this website (View TKD Resume). The U.M.B.A. Dan Grid Requirements have been developed in the traditional style of Moo Do Kwon, and uniquely blends in its requirements the martial arts skills and training methods of three popular Korean Martial Arts Systems—Taekwondo and/or Tang Soo Do; Yudo and/or Judo; and Hapkido and/or Hwarang Do. The History of the development of this unique U.M.B.A. training system, from its local inception in 1974 through its national recognition in 2002 and its continued influence in 2003 (via the United States Taekwondo Won—U.S.T.W. Originally designed by the late Grandmaster Myung Hwan Kim (who was uniquely certified as a Master Instructor in all three Korean Martial Arts Systems, who was uniquely qualified as a Self Defense Instructor for the Korean Military, and who was uniquely experienced as an International Judo Player for the Korean National Team), the U.M.B.A. "blended" Dan Training Curriculum offers a superior knowledge and capacity of martial arts self defense skills—(1) kicking and punching from a distance (Taekwondo and/or Tang Soo Do); (2) throwing and falling from hand-to-hand (Yudo and/or Judo); and (3) redirecting the force of an attacker into the points of the attacker’s vulnerability (Hapkido and/or Hwarang Do); all in order to neutralize the attack and, if absolutely necessary, to terminate the attacker. DAN CONVERSION: All Martial Artists who have already achieved successful and verifiable test-grading for Dan (Black Belt Degree) Certification in any martial arts training systems are welcomed and eligible, with personal evaluation via an approved and accelerated program of U.M.B.A. Advanced Dan Training, to "convert" their current Dan Certification into the U.M.B.A. ranking system

MASTER GEORGE N. WUKOVICH, ESQ. TKD Resume
George N. Wukovich is an attorney presently licensed to practice before all Federal and State courts and agencies exercising jurisdiction within the State of Ohio. Master Wukovich is also presently active in several professional legal organizations and has been in private practice, since 1985, where he successfully represents the interests of individuals, families and small businesses in the broad and complicated areas of: Civil, Criminal and Appellate Litigation; Administrative Law; Commercial and Residential Real Estate; Business Planning; and, Estate Planning and Probate; as a small firm litigation associate (1985-1997) and as a sole practitioner in personal and commercial trial practice (1997-present). In addition to his professional practice, Master Wukovich currently serves as a Director and Past President of the United States Taekwondo Won (USTW), an Ohio Not for Profit corporation and 501(c)(3) Public Charity (go to www.ustw.org). He has merged his skills as an Attorney at Law, and as a martial arts Master Instructor, by: developing a “blended” program of traditional martial arts training systems (Taekwondo, Judo & Hapkido) known as the United Martial Arts Black Belt Association (UMBA); and, founding a “traditional” program of martial arts teaching and marketing systems, known as the Korean Martial Arts Society (KMAS), in which several USTW certified UMBA/KMAS affiliated schools. In 2002, Master Wukovich was nationally test-graded and certified as a Sixth Degree (6th Dan) Black Belt and designed the USTW Instructor’s Certification Seminar program protocols, after which he was appointed to serve as USTW National Legal Counsel. In 2003, he was appointed to serve as the National Program Director for the first USTW Instructor’s Certification Seminar. In 2004, the Honorable Bob Wise, Governor of the State of West Virginia, presented him with a Certificate of Recognition for his outstanding dedication and service to the USTW, after which Master Wukovich was also appointed to serve as the USTW National Event Coordinator. In 2005, Master Wukovich was appointed to serve as Chair of the USTW Instructor Certification Committee. In 2006, he was appointed to serve as the National Program Director for the fourth USTW Instructor’s Certification Seminar and USTW President Sok Ho Kang presented him with a Certificate of Recognition for his outstanding dedication and service. On November 18, 2006, Master Wukovich was test-graded and certified as a Seventh Degree (7th Dan) Black Belt and Master Instructor, after which he was elected to serve the USTW as a corporate Director and Vice President. On November 2, 2007, Master Wukovich was elected to serve the USTW as a corporate Director and President. In 2009, in addition to serving as a USTW Director and Past President, he was appointed to serve as Co-Chair of the USTW Supreme Promotion Board and is a member of several USTW standing committees. In 1985, Master Wukovich graduated from the Case Western Reserve School of Law. During his Law School years, Master Wukovich engaged in professional work experience, including: Legal Intern; Rental Agent and Custodian; and, Instrument Locator and Corporate Researcher. In 1982, Master Wukovich graduated, cum laude, from Miami University of Ohio. During his undergraduate years, his work experience included: Resident Assistant and Student Assistant for the Office of Residence Life of Miami University; Intake Officer Internship with the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court; Machinist with the International Machinists and Aeronautical Workers Union (IMAWU); and, Laborer for a bricklayer and cement finisher. In 1977, Master Wukovich graduated from North Olmsted Senior High School as: the Top Scholar; the Salutatorian; the Year Book Editor; and, having been voted “Most Likely To Succeed” by his Senior Class. He is also currently a member of: Phi Beta Kappa; Psi Chi; Omicron Delta Kappa; Phi Eta Sigma; the International Thespian Society; and, the National Eagle Scout Association. Master Wukovich lives with his wife, Cheryl, and their children, in Fairview Park, Ohio. |
